Donald Trump lied he turned down Time Magazine’s ‘Person of the Year’ honor, Time responds
President Trump decided in a tweet wrote that Time magazine offered him their coveted Person of the Year title, but he turned it down after they used the word ‘probably.’
According to Trump, the magazine reached out and told him he ‘probably’ had the title — but that wasn’t good enough so he said no.

Time clapped back, said Donald was ‘incorrect’ with his account of events:Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 24, 2017
President Trump was Time's 2016 “Man (Person) of the Year”!!!The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.— TIME (@TIME) November 25, 2017
