Monday, November 13, 2017 S-x Toy Company Apologises For 'Accidentally' Recording Audio Of People Using Its Product

A sex toy company has been left red-faced when it emerged the erotic accessories were secretly recording audio files of customers orgasms.

Users of the Lovense remote app, which worked with the company's remote-controlled vibrators found that audio recordings were being stashed in a folder on their Android phones.

"The file was a FULL audio recording 6 minutes long of the last time I had used the app to control my SO's remote control vibrator," wrote one disgruntled owner in a Reddit post exposing the flaw.

The user, known as tydoctor, had given the app permission to use the mic and camera in order for the couple to exchange voice clips through the in-app chat feature.

The post led other users to chip in with the admission they had experienced something similar.

Eventually, a Lovense representative responded and called the issue a "bug" that affected Android users of the app but didn't apply to iOS users. They have since apologised.
