Tanzania's President

A statement released on behalf of Tanzania’s President, John Magufuli, disclosed that Director of the Bukoba Municipal Council, Erasto Mfugale, and the Director of the Bukoba Rural Municipal Council, Mwantum Dau, have been sacked over their lack of retentive memory.

According to statement, President John Magufuli, who has sacked thousands of civil servants over the past two years in a crackdown on government inefficiency and corruption, fired the two senior officials late on Monday after they failed to recall immediately how much money was allocated by the government in their respective districts, for public road construction projects.

The senior officials will however be assigned to other duties.
