2019 election: APC Clears Air On Buhari’s Sole Candidacy

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s claim that President Muhammadu Buhari is planning to be a sole candidate ahead of the 2019 presidential election.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Bolaji
Abdullahi, said that insinuations that Buhari wants to be the sole candidate were presumptuous and inconsistent.
He said the rumours simply did not make any sense, adding that it would be difficult for the PDP to understand internal democracy.
Abdullahi said, “Expecting the Peoples Democratic Party to understand internal democracy would be asking for too much.
“APC has no hand in the crisis currently rocking the PDP.
“The PDP is still suffering from withdrawal syndrome.”
He also said that the emergence of a factional group in PDP, (Fresh PDP) showed that the party has built its house on falsehood.
According the party spokesperson, the APC had earlier raised the alarm “that the PDP convention was a sham.
“The PDP should be embarrassed that it cannot see beyond the APC for explanations to its problems.”
