A 33-year-old man from Kenya has been charged for embezzlement after he overcharged AED420 on a ticket while working at Dubai Airport.
The man was reportedly a customer service salesman, working at the airport, when he charged a traveler US$700 and recorded the transaction in Dirhams. He then took the difference of AED420/$115.
According to Khaleej Times, the Kenyan man confessed:
"He wanted a ticket from Dubai to Tashkent and I issued it to him for $700. I collected the money in cash from him and converted it into dirhams at an exchange office at the airport. It was AED2,520. I deposited AED2,100 as a price for that ticket in the cash register and kept the remaining AED420 with me."
The man has been charged at the Court of First Instance.
