The Lord of the Skies Premieres tonight on Telemundo

A brand-new telenovela, The Lord of the Skies, premieres on Telemundo (DStv Channel 118and GOtv Channel 14) tonight and it brings with it a twist that we’ve yet to see on any other telenovela. What can we expect from the new

series? Let’s break it down.

The Lord of the Skies centres on Aurelio Casillas (Rafael Amaya), a powerful businessman working to fill the shoes of Pablo Escobar Gavira. Wealthy, popular with the ladies, and with the whole world at his feet, Casillas is on a roll, until his identity is exposed by Mexican police officer Marco Mejia (Gabriel Porras). Now, Casillas must protect his family, opting to undergo high-risk plastic surgery to conceal his face. It turns out the most important fight of his life will take place in the operating room!

As if the intriguing plotline isn’t enough, you may be excited to hear Ximena Herrera is cast in the role of Casillas’s fiancé Ximena Letrán, who is forced to contend with the dangers that lurk around every corner thanks to the shady dealings of the men in her life. Other famous faces to look out for in The Lord of the Skiesinclude Carmen Villalobos as special agent Leonor Ballesteros, and Raúl Méndez as Aurelio’s brother, Víctor “Chacorta” Casillas.

As events unfold in tonight’s episode, you’ll also be introduced to the notorious Robles clan, a family of career criminals who’ve inherited a similar business as Casillas and so count themselves among his biggest enemies.
