The President of France, Emmanuel Macron poured encomiums on the Spirit of Africa, Dr Mike Adenuga, while conferring on the Guru the highest French National honour of Commandeur Ordre National de la Legion d’honneur (Commander of the National Order of the Legion of Honour) at the new Alliance Francaise Mike Adenuga Centre on Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Macron thanked Adenuga for donating what is rated as the most magnificent edifice for the new Alliance Francaise Mike Adenuga Centre. Macron also praised Mike Adenuga's daughter Bella Disu (nee Adenuga) who kept many sleepless nights coordinating the special event.

Bella took to her LinkedIn page to thank Macron:
Thank you President Macron for specially recognizing and appreciating my efforts. You were most gracious and it was an honor to conduct the tour of the new centre with you. _______ The new Alliance Française Lagos Mike Adenuga Centre venue will offer numerous facilities: a world class Art gallery, a French restaurant & daily fresh bakery, a state-of-the-art Cinema, Artists’ studios, an outdoor Amphitheatre, a Library and e-Library, 9 fully equipped French language classrooms, Nigerian (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo) language classes, translation and interpretation service, CampusFrance branch, offices, and much more! Alliance Française de Lagos will be fully operational before the end of the year. And open to all! President Macron described Alliance Francaise as a commitment aimed at making the friendship between France and Nigeria stronger and “lifting barriers that have existed between both cultures”.
