ANNOUNCED: Hijri New Year holiday for UAE public sector

A holiday day has been announced for the public sector to celebrate the Islamic New Year.

Workers will get a long weekend with next Thursday (September 13) off, and normal hours will resume on Sunday September 16. The important occasion is traditionally a time for Muslims to reflect on their faith.
The Hijri New Year holiday for the private sector is yet to be announced.
