Dubai Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan's #DubaiFitnessChallenge is back for 2018

After a resounding success in 2017, the Dubai Fitness Challenge is back, starting on Friday October 19 and running until Saturday November 17.
The initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council for Dubai Government, intends to make Dubai the most active city in the world. Last year was massive, and this year it’s promised to be even bigger and better – with a full 30 days of activities across the city. Participants can track their performance on the Dubai Fitness App and help make Dubai “the most active, healthiest, happiest, smartest city on the planet”. The event last year encouraged 786,000 citizens and residents of all ages and fitness levels to commit to 30 consecutive minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days.

Various challenges and events were held across the city to aid this, and the same will happen during this year’s month-long festival. This year, as Dubai continues its mission to be the most active city in the world, the goal is for more one million participants to take part. There will be a range of fitness activities, free facilities and sports as well as weekend fitness carnivals. Activities will range from walking to team sports, intense fitness regimes, paddle-boarding, group fitness classes to football, yoga and cycling. It doesn’t matter about your age, skills or fitness, everyone is encouraged to join in and try something new.

Full registration details will be revealed in October, but until then it’s time to plot out your fitness regime. Free. Oct 19-Nov 17.

I have been looking forward to this since the day the first season ended! I didn't miss a day or any weekend carnival last year and this year, Insha Allah, I will not miss any as well. For more information visit www.dubaifitnesschallenge.com.
