And as part of the “10 million meals” campaign, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa has transformed into the world’s tallest donation box. The Burj Khalifa has a whopping 1.2 million lights that are now for sale, and for every light purchased for Dhs10, one meal is provided to someone in need in the UAE. The World’s Tallest Donation Box was launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, in collaboration with Burj Khalifa, and aims to light up all 1.2 million lights through donations in a message of hope and solidarity to the world. 1.2 million lights equals 1.2 million meals to those in need.
A countdown is being displayed on the Burj Khalifa’s façade and the initiative’s website to track donations raised in real-time. Since launching on Saturday May 2 nearly 200,000 lights have already been purchased.
You can get involved by clicking HERE.
Donations start at Dhs50 for five lights and go all the way up to Dhs10,000 for 1,000 lights.
Those who donate can also leave a message of hope on the website.
